Hi everybody,

When I download a photo from the web or from an email attachment and then save it and send it to 'Iphoto Library", when i open my photo library, it's not there, and I can't find it. Where does it go? I've tried using the spotligth search, and I can see the file, but again can't open it. Ideas?

      Jade ?
      uh. Yeah i hear ya
the way you could do it is to just put the darn pciture on the desktop first
      open iPhoto®
then drag and drop it in to an iPhoto® album
you can then move it from the desktop to the trash and sfely empty the trash
then it ill be in iPhoto® somewhere and . more importantly , in the iPhoto® database
it is a screwed up way , i realize . but i have the same problems with music in iTunes®
but it's better to have multiple copies in stead of losing the sukkers L O L

I click on the Flle tab, and open 'save as'. When that opens, i save it to Iphoto library.

You need to be more explicit in your descriptions.

First you say that you download the photo. Then you say you clickon the File tab.

Those things don't make a lot of sense on their own.

Which program are you in when you click on the File tab? Do you mean the File menu? The menu is the list across the top of the computer screen that starts with an Apple Logo and then the name of the application that you are in and then File, Edit ....

If you are in the Mail application, and you go to File > Save As
You won't be able to save the files to iPhoto that way, in fact you are not able to select the iPhoto Library when you do that so maybe you are saving the files to you Pictures folder, which is not the same thing as putting them in your iPhoto Library.

If you are in Mail, and you have pictures in an email that was sent to you, then you only need to click on the Save button in the header of the email message next to where it says x Attachements (where x = some number). The location of this button is in the header, or the top, of the email message. Underneath where it says From: , Subject, Date: and To:,

Click and HOLD DOWN THE MOUSE on that button and you will get an option to Add to iPhoto.

In the future you need to let us know more information about what you are doing. You need to be much more detailed otherwise it is difficult for us to figure out what is going wrong for you or what you actually need help with.

What operating system are you on and what version of iPhoto are you using?

From your other post, it sounds like you are using an older version of iPhoto and you are running Tiger.

I don't remember if the instructions I gave you above will work for Tiger. Can someone else help with that.

What you have been doing is just dropping the photos/images into the iPhoto Library folder which does iPhoto absolutely no good.

You need to save the pictures to a folder on the desk top. Open iPhoto and then drag and drop that folder on to the iPhoto window. It will then properly add the pictures to iPhoto. You can then delete that folder or it's contents from the Desktop.

WARNING: I would advise that you DO NOT go into you iPhoto Library folder. If you move any of those files around, you can damage your iPhoto Library.
