I have been using Dreamweaver MX on my Powerbook G4 to update my web sites. I am not a programmer or web designer, so i am looking ofr the best software for me to make simple pages and edit existing simple pages. Dreamweaver seems too complex and i am guessing there are better ways of doing the simple tasks with a better user interface. Any suggestions? THANKS.

It seems to be good for basic design/publishing of web pages, but is it good for editing already existing pages?

Tue, April 29, 2008 - 9:38 PMNope, believe it or not, Dreamweaver is not only one of the easiest, but it creates impeccable code.
iWeb hates working with existing files (doesn't even have an "open" option in the file menu). -

Wed, April 30, 2008 - 10:38 AMI used to use Dreamweaver, but these days I use Nvu, which is pretty easy and it's free, so that's probably the best thing about it. -

Re: Simple Web Design Software?
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 2:15 PMoh wow, that's a bit out of date, I didn't realize they discontinued it... I have used KompoZer too, which apparently has replaced it, but I never got that deep into it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KompoZer.
These will also run as portable apps off of a thumb drive, which I don't use too often in OSX, mostly XP, but I know its out there. Brilliant stuff really. Check out Gimp as well, it's the photoshop replacement project. -

Re: Simple Web Design Software?
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 5:29 PMfor simple you can open and edit html documents using textedit.
for user interface, look up - os x WYSIWYG html editor on a search engine
it stands for "what you see is what you get" I think iweb and nvu and komposer, for example, are all wysiwyg - they should show up along with other options in the search
