A couple of day ago I had a kernel panic. A friend was trying to communicate with me on Skype. As he was trying to call me, the computer froze and a restart screen appeared.
I checked through the panic.log to see what was up. I am hoping to find someone who might be able to interpret the output, which appears below.

Re: kernel panic
Tue, May 15, 2007 - 8:45 PMI do a lot of mac support. Kernal panics are almost always tracked to a bad ram chip - and in most cases I've seen, it was the discount prices ram I added to a machine (though pricy apple ram and quality brands I've seen fail, too).
You can try: diglloydTools download <homepage.mac.com/lloyd.cha...l.dmg.zip>
to stress test the ram and see if you can get a perdicatble failure (though ram can fail in 'stages' so to speak). If it does crash, remove a chip and test again. If it fails, put it back and remove anouther if you can, and test again.
If you added new "low level" software like a virus program, or a USB printer, or some other "driver" it could be at fault as well and need to be updated or removed.
I saw a few other kernal panic links in the topic but I'm off to bed - so can't vouch for the help they may hold for you... best of luck. I've had great luck rooting out kernal panics in ram but a couple of times it was a full clean system reinstall that fixed it, yuck! -

Interesting observations. I have posted about my kernel panics woes ("kernel panic help needed") on this tribe. My problem is still not solved. Perhaps you might read that thread and see if you can help me there? Thanks.

Re: kernel panic
Tue, May 15, 2007 - 9:28 PMan occasional panic attack is nothing to freak out about (pardon the puns).
but your log appears to be video related. what was happening when the machine went down? did it involve windows media?
