I'm trying to make a Snow Leopard Boot Drive and was wondering can I make a boot drive with an Apple Partion Map or do i HAVE to have a GUID drive?
I have a boot disk with Tiger and Leopard on it and want one that will boot the new computers too so i'd like to keep it all on one drive and not have a whole separate drive for just Intel Snow Leopard boot.

Re: Snow Leopard Boot Drive
Mon, November 2, 2009 - 2:25 PMYou can boot snow leopard off a AFP drive. But the same (leopard) rules apply:
- You can not INSTALL to an AFP formatted drive, you'll have to clone it over from a GPM
- USB Flash drives almost always require GUID to boot.
My Rocstor 9cx is AFP, boots 10.3.9, 10.4.8, 10.5.8 & 10.6.1 via FW400, FW800 and USB (not a flash drive) -
